Xiaodong Wang, National Institute of Biological Sciences, China
Dr. Xiaodong Wang is currently the director and investigator of National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing (NIBS). He graduated from Beijing Normal University with the bachelor degree in biology in 1984, and received his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 1991. He received many awards in Biological Science, including the Shaw Laureate in Life Science and Medicine, 2006. The goal of his research laboratory at NIBS is to understand cell death at molecular level. The research scope is an expansion of their previous 15 years of research focus on apoptosis, a form of cell death executed by intracellular caspases.
